🍓You will learn how to create 3D beaded cake charms (can become earrings, keychains, necklaces). Bring your friends, a date, or make new connections!

Additional beads/accessories are available as add-ons to craft gifts for yourself and loved ones. Perfect for the upcoming holidays!

In this workshop we will also learn about the nonprofit organization that Baeyani Beads is dedicated towards.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Momo Manalang is a queer Filipino crafter from Queens and founder of Baeyani Beads.

“Baeyani” is a combination of the Tagalog words Babae (Woman) and Bayani (Hero). Baeyani Beads intends to bring to prominence the state of incarceration in the Philippines. As of 2024, there are well over 700 political prisoners in the Philippines, of which 18.5% are women. Beading became a craft embraced by activists to raise awareness and financial support for Filipino freedom fighters languishing in jails across the country.

For every pair of earrings she sells, $1 will be donated to Malaya Movement’s Palayain Campaign. This will go towards meeting the immediate and long-term needs of Filipino political prisoners.
